As we gather on Transgiving, we acknowledge that we do so on the ancestral lands of the Osage, Missouri, and Illinai people, who were removed unjustly.

 

We are the beneficiaries of false promises, broken treaties, and genocide.

 

Throughout and despite colonization, indigenous people are still here, and continue to fight for their language, culture, beliefs, and rights.
